God's Word, God's Wisdom and God's Way

GOD’S WORD, GOD’S WISDOM, GOD’S WAY

Throughout our Lord’s journey here on earth, He never feared anything, as He was completely dependent on God.  He knew and proclaimed that the Almighty God is a sovereign God who “is good and does good” (Ps: 119:68) and that God was the only one who had Authority over Him (John 19:11) and over us.

It is very clear that fear is not God’s lifestyle.

Jesus commands us not to worry or fear (Matthew 6:25-32) as that worrying is characteristic of an unbeliever.  So what can we as human beings do? How can we empower our lives? The only answer is God. God’s word, God’s wisdom and God’s way this is unpacked on the premise of the verse below, 2 Timothy 1:7.

“The Lord has not given me a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love and of a sound mind”. 2Timothy 1:7

GOD’S WORD IS SOUND
Like a river that ebb’s and flows, so too does God’s protection and authority dote over us, however we can only get to know and trust this through God’s word, God’s way and God’s wisdom.
The spirit of a sound mind is one the foundation of our lives.  Our mind need to be filled with the word of God, but not only the word of God but the understanding of His word. An understanding of how God actually wants us to live our lives.  The firm sturdy foundation on which God wants to plant us for others to see how to live a Godly life.  God has placed us on earth to be a guiding light of salvation for those whose lamps have been extinguished or whose oil is running low.
Should our mind be cloudy, distracted, negative or being attacked by the enemy who shoots arrows of doubt.  The ability to discern objectively or clearly is now indeed jaded and the concept of a sound mind is currently not accessible.

The lack of a sound mind is a perfect playground for the enemy, who is ready to bombard the mind with ping pong balls of disorientation and uncertainty. Unfavourable thoughts grow in the dark, they become secret or hide in one’s mind and are normally not topic of conversation.  God’s word is the only answer for this.  Shine a light on those unfavourable words, and take them captive.  In Psalm 119:105, God’s word provides light and where there is light nothing can hide, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path”.

God commands us in 2 Corinthians 10:5 “To take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ”. God knows beyond a shadow of a doubt the enemy’s tactics which is why God has given us His word.  His firm foundation, filled with promises, commands, authority and blessings.  Once you know God’s word, you have a sound and solid foundation of who your Almighty Father is.

GOD’S WISDOM IS POWER
Once you have a sound mind, from reading God’s word you will move into understanding His word.  Understanding supports, you in the foundation of your life with self-discipline, self-control and sound judgement because you see how our Lord lived, and this is the gift He wants for you.

In Matthew 4:4, It is written that, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God”.  Words are extremely powerful.  Should someone speak hurtful words over you, to you or about you, it hurts, it cuts like a two edged sword.  Proverbs 18:21 says “Death and life are in the power of the tongue”.

Words are indeed influential and have power so every one of us have power we carry around with us.  So with power, comes great responsibility and one must journey then with caution and wisdom.  The wisdom we obtain is letting God’s word filter through our sound mind.  Once the mind is devoid of the enemy’s attack or at least kept captive, there then is a space created for you to have a deeper understanding of God’s word.  An understanding that evolves into wisdom.  Yes, wisdom can be built through hardships and challenges faced due to life’s adversities.  Consider how you got through that adversity?  Consider the lesson you learnt from that?

As a Christian it would be prudent, during adversities or decision making times, to spend some time in prayer with God; to take one’s thought’s captive, read God’s word and listen for God’s guidance.
In Jeremiah 29:12, it is written that the Lord said, “Then you will call on me and you will come and pray to me, and I will hear [your voice] and I will listen to you”.  A sound mind fed by God’s word is a large part of the recipe that leads to growth.  God’s word provides guidance, and wisdom is knowing how to discern and apply it to your life, together with God.

GOD’S WAY IS LOVE
The method that God uses to apply his word and ways is through Love. Nothing other than love.  It is written in 1 Corinthians 13:13, “And now these three remain; faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love”.  God’s way is sacrificing through love. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the word, but in order that the world might be saved through him”, from John 3:16-17.

Making a sacrifice creates processes within us that to enable us to grow in wisdom; and to facilitate future decision making processes.  When having to make a wise decision, it can be really tough, difficult, and challenging.  It can mean having to make a sacrifices, which can mean giving up something for the sake of others or other considerations.

Soak yourself with these three interconnected and interrelated elements of God; His Words, His Wisdom and His Way. The interwoven tapestry of these three elements makes you joyfully giddy with the knowledge of God’s overwhelming unconditional love, that the concept of fear is the furthest spec in your mind. Jesus spoke with his people, in John 8:12 and He said, “I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

Take God’s hand and Walk in His light.
